Red Light Cameras Reduce Impact Collisions
The primary purpose of the Red Light Enforcement Program is the reduction of side impact collisions at intersections resulting in major injuries or fatalities. Currently, there are five monitored intersections in the City of Cedar Hill. All violations are reviewed by members of the Cedar Hill Traffic Unit for accuracy before they are mailed out to the registered owners of the violating vehicle.
Proven Effective
Cedar Hill is among more than 500 communities in the United States that are using cameras to deter red-light running and reduce the fatalities, injuries and property damage that result from red-light runners. The cameras monitor intersections 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing police officers to deal with other law enforcement efforts, which makes the entire community safer.
