Liquid Waste Transportation & Disposal

Transporter Permit Required

The City's liquid waste ordinance was passed in 2017 and regulates the generation, transportation, and disposal of liquid waste (grease, sand/grit, chemical toilet, and septic system wastes). The transporter must apply for a permit by submitting a liquid waste transportation permit application with the City before hauling grease interceptor waste, grit trap waste, septic tank waste or chemical toilet waste. Generally liquid waste hauler permits are issued with duration of one year (Jan. 1 through Dec. 31) and require an annual inspection. A $200 permit fee is assessed per vehicle. Transporters who fail to obtain a permit may be subject to penalties of up to $2,000 per violation per day. Liquid waste haulers must also register with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) before permitting with the City.
