During the academy you will learn about the various operations and divisions of the department from the officers who serve in those units. • See the various weapons and equipment used by our Emergency Response Team. • Learn about how officers enforce traffic laws. • See actual videos while learning about the dangers and decisions that officers face during vehicle pursuits. • Get acquainted with Titus, the police K9. • Take a tour of the Desoto Jail and our 911 call center. • Get to know detectives and how they solve local cases. Upon graduation, each participant will come away with a new understanding about how law enforcement works and why. They’ll also come away with new friends and relationships that are vital to our mission to keep Cedar Hill safe.
