The Community Tree Giveaway is an annual event that provides free trees to Cedar Hill residents each Spring, limit of 2 per household. (Red Oak and Live Oak)

Make plans to pick up your free tree at Earth Fest on April 15 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Alan E. Sims Recreation Center (310. E. Parkerville Rd.)

Planting new trees enhances Cedar Hill's urban canopy and helps our city thrive! Trees are vital for sustainable community growth, economic vitality, and public health.

Cedar Hill needs new trees to:

  • Increase property values
  • Boost consumer spending
  • Encourage outdoor physical activity
  • Beautify neighborhoods and public spaces
  • Lower energy consumption of homes and businesses

How to Qualify

City of Cedar Hill residents are eligible for free trees from NeighborWoods, a partnership between the City of Cedar Hill and Keep Cedar Hill Beautiful, offers one to two free trees for residents to plant in front lawns throughout town.

Applicants must agree to plant it in the front lawn of your residence, according to planting instructions, and to water it regularly for a minimum of 2 years. (while supplies last)
