Have you been impacted by COVID-19 and have not been able to pay your household bills?
Cedar Hill residents who are negatively economically affected (loss/reduction of income) by the Coronavirus pandemic may qualify for financial assistance through Dallas County's Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). This program will continue to provide financial assistance for rent/mortgage, electricity, gas, and water bills. Maximum assistance through this program is $1,500 per month for up to six months. Residents must have a household income that does not exceed 80% of the area median income. Residents who previously received housing assistance through Dallas County EHAP, may re-apply for assistance through this program for up to the six month maximum time period.
Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) is accepting pre-applications in English and Spanish online and via phone at 214.819.1968, Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 4 PM.
Eligibility Requirements
Below are the eligibility requirements for this program:
Applicant cannot currently be receiving assistance through another entity.
Applicant must reside in Dallas County, but outside of the City of Dallas (verified by zip code).
Applicant must have suffered an economic impact on or after April 1st. Economic impact is defined as "job loss" or "reduction in income" resulting in non-payment of rental or mortgage payment.
Applicant household income must fall within the Area Median Income (see below chart).
