Pursuant to state legislation that became effective on September 1, 2019, see Ordinance No. 2019-684 as a result of House Bill 2439 and Ordinance No. 2019-685 as a result of House Bill 3167. 

Adopted by the City Council, policies and ordinances are used to regulate the use and development of land in the city. They are designed to implement and shape the City according to the adopted Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan interprets and aligns the direction of the city with the Cedar Hill community's desired vision for future land use and public facilities In any measure, our policies and ordinances reflect the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan of a sustainable, innovative community, as well as the department's ultimate mission of delivering exemplary service.
